Tutoring Resources

Discord is an app that you can download on your computer, phone, or other internet-accessing device that you can use to connect with people via text, voice, and video. If you do not have a device that can download the app, you can also use Discord in your web browser!

1. Join the Maritime Learning Support discord server via https://discord.gg/QA4YC4ju
2. You have to be a member for 10 minutes before posting a message in our channels. 
3. Once those 10 minutes have passed -- You will need to read and agree to our server rules to interact with our tutors. 
   1. You will see the rules under #rules which is located at the top of the left navigation. 
   2. Read the rules (at the top of the channel or under pinned messages) and post your name and student identification number to acknowldege agreement.
   3. Your membership role will be changed to Student which will allow you to interact with our tutors.
4. Locate the Core Subject Category you seek tutoring assistance in.  You can interact with our tutors via text-only or voice/text capability.
5. Our tutors will be on the server during their designated drop-in hours to answer general questions.  If you need more in-depth answers the tutor will provide you the link to their GoBoard.
6. You only have to join Discord once.
