Below are pre-built courses with OER content. All content can be modified to fit your needs.

Either Browse by "Subject" or search for a specific topic.

Open Courses

  • SUNY OER Services- This SUNY service offers user-friendly technology to adopt, adapt, and modify existing OER for individual needs, as well as providing guidance for creating and distributing new materials. 
  • Lumen Learning - Lumen Learning publishes open courses to make it easier for faculty members to adopt and teach with OER. Each course includes a complete set of OER-based readings and sample assessments. The site also provides links to open textbooks through Open Stax.
  • MIT Open Courseware- Open SUNY MIT OpenCourseWare (OCW) is a web-based publication of virtually all MIT course content. 
  • Open Learning Initiative - Open courses by Carnegie Mellon University.
  • Open Course Library - The Open Course Library (OCL) is a collection of shareable course materials, including syllabi, course activities, readings, and assessments designed by teams of college faculty, instructional designers, librarians, and other experts. All content is stored in Google docs.
  • Merlot - Merlot is a curated collection of free and open online teaching, learning, and faculty development services contributed and used by an international education community. It can be searched by keywords and content type.
  • OER Commons - This a repository with various forms of OER as well as tools on creating OER, training on how to use OER and offers the ability to create OER.
