Find answers to some frequently asked questions about the library here.

Access to databases is available remotely through our website. You can find them on our A-Z database listing. When connecting to a resource you will be asked for your Maritime credentials. This is the same username and password you use to access your school email.

If you are having trouble accessing databases remotely, email library@sunymaritime.edu with the following information and a librarian will respond to you as soon as possible:

• What e-resource you are having trouble accessing
• Include screenshots of issues where possible

Already have a citation and are looking for a particular journal? Use our Journal Finder to see if the content is available online in any of our databases.

1. The library will shut down interlibary loan and SUNYShare for physical materials. Book Chapters and articles will still be pushed through the ILL system. This service may be limited as libraries across the country curtail their operations.
2. Physical textbooks and reserve items will not be provided in alternative forms by the library during a library closure because of copyright laws.
3. Loan due dates will be pushed back to avoid late fines and fees.

All reference and research consultations will be provided through existing services such as chat, email, telephone, Zoom.

Librarians will staff the remote chat service and monitor the library email from 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.

If appropriate and available, web meetings can be provided to students/faculty for information literacy instruction. Fill out our request for library instruction form.
